Cisco ISR G2-Series (1900/2900/3900) Routers End-of-Sale / End-of-Life Announcement is HERE!

WOW!  Time truly does fly by when you are having fun in the Information Technology field and just when I thought the ISR G2-series of Cisco routers (the 1900, 2900, and 3900 series to be exact) would be here forever, the inevitable has finally happened: Yes, Cisco has come out with the End-of-Sale / End-of-Life announcement for all 3 models!  The original announcement was actually declared back on 9 September 2016, but I am just now getting around to posting about it – remember, time does fly!  So, what does this really mean?  Well, the last date of support for the units will be 31 December 2022, so you do have over five (5) years to get them upgraded to the Cisco-recommended replacement: the 43xx-series.  Also, it doesn’t look like the 1900-series proper has been EOL’ed, but certain models sporting WI-FI are definitely on the list (see links below) and I can’t imagine that the announcement for all 1900s is far behind.  I have posted the links to each of the 3 EOL/EOS announcements below!  Enjoy!
