In this Packet Tracer techtorial we take a deep dive look at the history of the Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) and walk through Radia Perlman’s version of STP all the way to Multiple Spanning Tree (MST). We discuss the differences between PVST/PVST+, STP, RSTP, RPVST/RPVST+, MST/MISTP/MSTP and break down just how the different version of Spanning Tree came about.
