In this introductory CCNA-level tutorial from the Cisco Networking Academy ITNv7 course curriculum we will be taking a deep dive look at Packet Tracer activity 2.5.5: Configuring Basic Cisco Switch Settings. We go over setting the hostname, how to disable DNS lookups (which are normally typos from PRIV EXEC mode), how to set passwords, how to crack a Type 7 password, setting a CON line password, the use of the “do” command from modes beyond PRIV EXEC and how that can save you time, we cover multiple ways to save your running configuration and I also show you how to back it up and then restore it using the “configure replace” command.
