In this tutorial video, we take our first look at the Cisco-created Genie testing framework by diving into Parts #4 through #6 of Lab 7.6.3 from our course. We continue our work in the new #python virtual environment (venv) and then see how Genie is the specialized data-model-driven network testing framework. If pyATS is like the U.S Navy, then Genie is the Navy Seals of network data driven testing! We interactively create a Genie testbed YAML file, pull out configuration information from our CSR1kv, and then see how the ‘genie diff’ command can help us understand differences between files/configurations.
